Mr. Khayam got his schooling from Karachi Grammar School and then went on to get a business degree from the University of Houston. He later obtained his MBA from Pepperdine University. He started his career as Market Training Manager with PepsiCo in their food service division in California. After returning to Pakistan he took over the family-owned Automobile Corporation of Pakistan (Autocom). He has led Autocom to become Pakistan’s largest manufacturer of semi-trailers and road tankers.
Professionally, Khayam helped find the Fleet Operators Association of Pakistan to promote modernized trucking. Khayam has served as a Board Member for Transport Policy in the Planning Commission and has also served as a Board Member in Pakistan Steel. Khayam is a co-founder of Karachi Relief Trust (KRT) – a volunteer organization dealing in Disaster Management. He has served as Chairman of the Board of Public Interest Law Association of Pakistan (PILAP) and also serves on the board of NOWPDP (helping people with disabilities), Charter for Compassion and AISEC. |
